Cycle Instead in Spring Bike to Work Challenge - Getting Started
cyclea rtwds
Welcome to the Cycle Instead in Spring Bike to Work Challenge 2007. There will be over one hundred and eighty teams (800 cyclists) cycling to work each week from all over WA, from as far as Kununurra and Albany. The Challenge will run for six weeks from September 10 to October 21. Good luck to all teams.

Each week your team contact will be sent a Bike to Work scoresheet for your team. Record your daily kilometres on this sheet and return the completed sheet at the end of the first week. If you have doubts about how far your journey is, just e-mail us and we will work out your kilometres. Generally a cyclist will travel around 15km per hour.

To work out your distances go to www.whereis.com/whereis/directions.do and enter your start and finish addresses.

When each Score sheet is complete, e-mail it immediately to corpchal@iinet.net.au

We will post your team and company results on the web each week. Each cyclist, team and company kilometres will be posted on your own web page. A link to your team's results page will be posted on the results pages.

More Chances to Win
For each week you ride to work you’ll earn an extra chance to win in all our prize draws.
So the more you ride the the more chances you have to win.

Recruit a Novice for More Chances to Win
For every new novice you recruit for your team each team member will get an extra chance to win in the prize draws we have.
So try and recruit as many novices as you can to have more chances to win.
Every team member that rides on National Ride to Work Day receives two extra chances to win.

* A novice cyclist is a person who has never cycled to work, or may have only occasionally cycled to work. If a person has not cycled to work in 2007 he/she may qualify as a novice cyclist.
* Teams may not interchange any cyclists, and a cyclist can only ride for one team.
* Teams may recruit novice cyclists from different companies or government departments.
* Participants may ride to work or part way to work to qualify, ie. part way to work may be to a railway or bus station.
* Participants can include their weekend and recreational kilometres. Replace a car trip.
Great Prizes to be won in 2007

Three ‘Comfort’ Bikes to be Won.
Plus the chance to win Bicycle Computers, Bikewest Bike Packs, T-shirts and Water bottles plus many more spot prizes.

Earn 20 Corporate Challenge Points
To score maximum Corporate Challenge points for your company your three team members need to ride at least once for each of the six weeks of the Challenge for 9 points, and recruit at least 3 novices over the six weeks to earn 2 more points, then 9 points extra for team riding on National Ride to work Day to score the maximum 20 points.
